Me?

Typically, like allot of people here, I have a bunch of certificates, diplomas and degrees that have helped me apply complex macro economics formulas to predict commodity prices, design and implement technology guidelines and an online communications strategies for a company that had 300+ websites, research social implications of AI/BMIs using cognitive psychology theories, start and sell a (dot)com, design online branding guidelines for a UN agency and now, trying to understand where the future gaps are so I can start another company :-)

But more importantly, I have had the pure luck of being involved with the internet since its inception.

Having worked on early DARPA and the EU Commission Framework IV projects back in the late 80s/early 90s, I've developed a keen (love that word) interested in behavior modification, learning behaviors, knowledge transfer and communication channel strategy and integration models.

These days, I am intrigued by the way that innovation is shaping our space and our rules (and vice versa, by the way). I am constantly impressed by how the application of creative mashing can be used to modify societies and shape organizational behavior.

Under the guise of cognitive psychology, this is a branch called social informatics.

Social Informatics (SI) refers to the body of research and study that examines social aspects of computerization -- including the roles of information technology in social and organizational change and the ways that the social organization of information technologies are influenced by social forces and practices.

But really .... it's about understanding how the world is being shaped.

Right now.

Right here.

It's about how we, as separate societies, deal with these changes.

The truth is - it's not about technology - it's all about the application of it. Innovation is not what technology can do - innovation is what people adopt.

Anyways, that's what I like to do and oddly enough, I have been lucky enough to do just that.

Interests: social psychology, social media and social web, transhumanism, H+, doers, shapers, thinkers, digital divide,
