          How to get to Jeju

The beautiful Island Jeju is located in the center of Northeast Asia and lies equidistant between South Korea, China and Japan.
          Jeju Island is only
          - a 1-hour flight away from Seoul
          - a 1.5-hours flight away from Shanghai
          - a 2.5-hours flight from Tokyo

From Seoul Gimpo-Airport there are a variety of flights per hour flying to Jeju. The following airlines operate flights from Seoul Gimpo-Airport, Shanghai and Tokyo to Jeju:
          - Korean Air Lines
          - Asiana
          - Jeju Air (budget airline)

Moreover, a unique immigration policy is applied in Jeju. Chinese tourists, including individual tourists, can go to Jeju for up to 30 days without a visa.

How to get to Gimpo-Airport from Incheon-Airport

There are shuttle buses and the Airport Railroad Express Train connecting Seoul-Incheon and Seoul-Gimpo Airport. In Jeju there will also be shuttle buses carrying you conveniently from the airport to your hotel and the conference center.

How much will it cost to come to LIFT from Seoul?

To come from Seoul you will have to book a flight (130$) and hotel nights. You can fly in from Seoul Thursday early morning, then you need to book only one hotel night. Depending on the level of comfort you want here are the prices you should be paying:

          Flight + 1 night in a 5-stars-hotel (Hyatt): 130$ + 120$ = 250$
          Flight + 1 night in a 5-stars-hotel (Shilla): 130$ + 155$ = 285$
          Flight + 1 night in a 3-stars-hotel (Suites): 130$ + 65$ = 195$

          Book you Flight(s)

Jeju International airport has a total of 17 direct airlines, which link major cities. There are several flights a day from Seoul. There are several weekly flights from internationl citiies to Jeju: 6 times from Tokyo, 4 times from Osaka, 2 times from Beijing, and 3 times from Hong Kong.

Important: if you come from another country than Korea you should book your flight in two different steps. Calculating a price from Geneva or New York directly to Jeju will give you ridiculous prices (something like 3'000$) while booking your trip to seoul (should be between 1200 and 1500$) then your flight to Jeju (130-180$) will cost the real price, i.e. much less.

          To recap:
          - for your plane to Seoul (airport code SEL) use a system like Kayak
          - for your plane from Seoul to Jeju use the local flight agency website.

          What to do in Jeju

Jeju is a mythic island offering many attractions such as beaches, volcanos, the highest mountain in Korea (Halla Mountain), waterfalls and a beautiful vegetation.
You may have very short time to stay in Jeju, so we want to recommend few famous and impressive tour spots for foreigners near the venue.
Daepo Columnar Joints: The columnar joints are situated at seashore east Jungmun Tourism Complex. Black hexagonal stone pillars are piled on top of each other; they unfold like a folding screen as if a god elaborately piled up blocks of stone.
Jungmun Beach: This beach is surrounded by steep cliffs that create a cozy and romantic atmosphere. It is situated within the Jungmun Tourism Complex where visitors can enjoy summer vacation by utilizing a variety of entertainment and recreation facilities. You can enjoy wind surfing, water skiing, parasailing and swimming in the indigo sea.
Cheonjiyon Waterfall: The waterfall falls from a precipice with thundering sounds, creating white water pillars. It has the name Cheonjiyon, meaning ‘the heaven and the earth meet and create a pond’. At 22 m in height and 12 min width, the waterfall tumbles down to the pond to produce awe-inspiring scenery.
You can visit the official website of Jeju Tourism for more information.

This tour covers the Seoul downtown area, including National Museum of Korea, Namsangol Hanok Village, Namdaemun Market, Dongdaemun Market, and Insa-dong.
